The short answer: Better Proposals is the cheapest well-known dedicated proposal tool, at $13 per user per month on annual billing. The catch is on the same line: Starter allows 10 documents a month and a maximum of one user. People go looking for alternatives when they hit that cap, or when they price the jump to Premium.

Pricing verified on 26 August 2026 by reading each vendor’s own pricing page: Better Proposals · PandaDoc · Proposify · Bonsai. Prices change — check the source before relying on a number here.

What the tiers actually allow

  • Starter — $13/user/month annually ($19 monthly). 10 documents, 1 user max.
  • Premium — $21/user/month annually ($29 monthly). 50 documents, unlimited users.
  • Enterprise — $42/user/month annually ($49 monthly). Unlimited documents.

Automated follow-up — Nudge — is a separate add-on at $10 per user per month. On Starter that is a 77% increase to add chasing.

The alternatives

1. PandaDoc — $19/user/month

$6 more than Starter and no document cap at all. If the cap is your problem and you are one person, this is the straightest swap in the category.

2. Proposify — $19/user/month

Same price as PandaDoc but capped at 10 sends on Basic, so it does not solve the cap. Choose it for the content library and approval workflow, not for volume.

3. Bonsai — $19/user/month for Essentials

Note that proposals are not in Bonsai’s $9 Basic plan — Essentials at $19 is the cheapest tier that includes them. In return you get time tracking, projects, invoicing and a CRM in the same subscription.

4. MyProposer — $6.99/month, flat

Half the price of Starter with ten times the documents — 100 every 30 days, across proposals, quotes, contracts and invoices, and not metered per seat.

Where Better Proposals still wins

Templates and speed. Their template library is deep and genuinely well written, and if your work is repeatable — the same three service packages to the same kind of client — you can get a good proposal out fast without thinking about structure. That is a real advantage over tools that hand you a blank page.

The honest read: if you send fewer than ten proposals a month and one seat is all you need, Starter at $13 is decent value and there is no urgent reason to move.

Where MyProposer fits

MyProposer is $6.99 a month for Pro, flat rather than per seat, covering 100 documents every 30 days across proposals, quotes, contracts and invoices. The Free plan is $0 for two of each every 30 days, with AI drafting, interactive quotes, e-signatures and the client CRM included. Every new account starts on 30 days of Pro automatically, no card.

It is a smaller product than the tools above. No team seats, no approval workflows, no Zapier or Salesforce integrations — if you need those, buy the tool that has them. See the plans or start free.
