Bonsai Alternatives for Proposals in 2026
MyProposer Team 6 min read

The short answer: if you came to Bonsai for proposals, the price is not $9. Proposals are not in the Basic plan. They start on Essentials, at $19 per user per month on annual billing or $25 billed monthly. That is worth knowing before you compare it with anything else.
Pricing verified on 26 August 2026 by reading each vendor’s own pricing page: Bonsai · Better Proposals · PandaDoc · Proposify. Prices change — check the source before relying on a number here.
What each Bonsai tier includes
- Basic — $9/user/month annually ($15 monthly). Time tracking, tasks, projects, CRM. No proposals.
- Essentials — $19/user/month annually ($25 monthly). Adds proposals, contracts, invoices and payments, forms, scheduling, client portal.
- Premium — $29/user/month annually ($39 monthly). Adds pipeline, reporting, integrations, and removing Bonsai branding.
- Elite — $49/user/month annually ($59 monthly), minimum three seats.
The branding line matters for freelancers: sending a proposal without Bonsai’s name on it means Premium at $29 per user per month, not $19.
The alternatives if proposals are the job
1. Better Proposals — $13/user/month
Cheaper and purpose-built, but capped at 10 documents a month and one user on Starter.
2. PandaDoc — $19/user/month
Same price as Bonsai Essentials, uncapped documents, and much stronger as a document tool. You lose everything else Bonsai does.
3. Proposify — $19/user/month
Also $19, capped at 10 sends on Basic, strongest on team consistency.
4. MyProposer — $6.99/month, flat
About a third of Essentials, with 100 documents every 30 days and your own branding on the Starter plan at $2.99 rather than at the $29 tier.
Where Bonsai is the right answer
Bonsai is not really a proposal tool and should not be judged as one. It is a business in a box for freelancers — time tracking, projects, expenses, invoicing, a CRM, tax help in some regions. If you would otherwise be paying for three or four separate subscriptions, $19 for all of it is good value and the proposals are a reasonable bonus.
Swap only if proposals are the main event and the rest is weight you are carrying.
Where MyProposer fits
MyProposer is $6.99 a month for Pro, flat rather than per seat, covering 100 documents every 30 days across proposals, quotes, contracts and invoices. The Free plan is $0 for two of each every 30 days, with AI drafting, interactive quotes, e-signatures and the client CRM included. Every new account starts on 30 days of Pro automatically, no card.
It is a smaller product than the tools above. No team seats, no approval workflows, no Zapier or Salesforce integrations — if you need those, buy the tool that has them. See the plans or start free.
